Jennifer Garner was originally born in Houston Texas on April 17th 1973. Her family was however raised within Charleston West Virginia. Her dad, William John Garner, was a chemical engineer at Union Carbide. The mother of her Patricia Ann taught at a local university. Her father was a chemical engineer, which is why she wanted to be similar to her father. In order to be an actor, she moved into New York. She was employed at a restaurant as well as appearing in Broadway shows. Her former husband Scott Foley met her on the show "Felicity," where she was a guest. Garner was given her first major performance with "13 Going on 30", a romantic comedy widely praised. Garner played a teenage girl who was trapped within the body of an adult. Garner chose Gary Winick (director) to create the film. They searched for new opportunities before Winick's passing in the year 2011. Garner was awarded the title the artist ambassador in 2009 by Save the Children U.S.A. Alongside promoting early education, literacy and nutrition at the at the national level, his role involves promoting the literacy of all Americans. Garner, who has served on the organization's board since 2014, serves as an advocate for the cause of early education. She is an ambassador of the Early Steps to School Success Program. She coaches parents on ways to help their children to learn.
