Jenna Fischer was best known for her role as Pam Beesly (the character of The Office) on TV. Her role on The Office brought her an Emmy nod for the Best Supporting Actress category. In addition, she received two SAG Awards, both for outstanding performances by the cast of a comedy.
Her birthplace was Fort Wayne, Indiana, but her family was primarily from St. Louis, Missouri. Jenna watched as her mother Anne was in the church stage. Her love for performance and theater was instilled when she was a teenager.
Fischer is an actress with theater training. The role she played was Josh Hamilton in Neil LaBute's Off-Broadway production Reasons to be Happy. She then starred in Steve Martin's newest production Meteor Shower. It was an absurdist comedic piece opposite Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg and ran for record-breaking time at Old Globe Theatre.
In October of 2019, Fischer and The Office cast-mate and real-life best friend Angela Kinsey launched an online podcast called Office Ladies on the Earwolf platform, which has gained immense popularity, settling within the Top Ten globally every week and gaining over 200 million downloads over its initial two years. Office Ladies was awarded the iHeart Radio Podcast of the year award in January 2021.
The Actor's Life is her debut book that chronicles the road she took starting in St. Louis, Missouri to Hollywood which is where she discovered her calling as an actress professionally. Her next book, Office BFF's (co-authored by Angela Kinsey) is a memoir of her best friend as well as their time in The Office.
